From start to finish,I had a very good experience with Mr Leeder, I just knew when I had spoke with him I was in good hands. My operation went well I had a quick recovery, The care from Mr Leeder was exceptional. I would recommend Mr Leeder without a doubt. He followed my recovery via phone calls, Excellent.

I saw Mr Leeder for a post operative check up on 11th November 2020 following surgery for an inguinal hernia repair.
As previously, on my initial consultation, I found him to be welcoming, professional, kind and caring, and very easy to talk to. He welcomed any questions or concerns I had and explained things thoroughly and understandably. He didn't rush me, giving me all the time needed.
He examined me carefully and very gently, explaining things and with a nurse present. I was impressed that he thanked her as she left! He pronounced that I had healed well and I have no doubt whatsoever that Mr Leeder had performed very good surgery.
I would have no hesitation in again consulting him. Very skilled and a lovely gentleman with empathy and a gentle sense of humour.
I am grateful to him for everything.

Mr Leeder was unhurried, giving me plenty of time. He made careful notes on everything I said, and conducted the consultation in a most courteous and thorough manner. His follow-up letter reflects perfectly everything that was said and agreed. I feel I have every confidence in his carefully calibrated approach. I am very thankful to have been referred to him.

At my first consultation with Mr Leeder in July 2020 I found him very welcoming we discussed my gall bladder problem and he explained my scans and made it easy to understand the problem had an examination and he recommended I have keyhole surgery. On the day of operation came to see me and reassured me of what was going to happen next day came to see me was well looked after by the team and staff at the Nuffield Derby. At my follow up consultation Mr Leeder explained once again very clearly what he had done and I was very satisfied with results. Would highly recommend him to anyone Thank you Mrs Janette Riley

I have been very impressed at the way in which Mr Leeder has sought to discover a cause for the symptoms with which I presented. His calm and friendly manner brought reassurance and confidence that should I need his help in the future I would not hesitate to consult him again. It has been so refreshing to meet a Consultant of his calibre who took such an interest in seeking to determine my particular problem and I can highly recommend him.

I am a consultant general laparoscopic surgeon with an interest in Upper GI, Cancer and Bariatric (weight loss) surgery. My specialist practice also includes laparoscopic hernia, reflux and gallbladder surgery.
Since qualifying as a doctor in 1989, my specialist surgical training has taken me from Nottingham to Leeds and Oxford. I was awarded a prestigious fellowship in Laparoscopic Surgery at The Royal Adelaide Hospital, before taking up my consultant post in Derby in 2002. I have been a member of The Council of The Association Of Laparoscopic Surgeons since 2010.
I have been committed to providing a specialist laparoscopic service in The East Midlands, for both NHS & private patients. I currently perform over 300 laparoscopic procedures per year, with nationally published outcomes.
